False Christs

Many people in the world glorify themselves rather than giving glory to God. Some people go so far as to claim that they are Christ returned to the world. This blasphemy can lead people away from God, so we should be prepared to identify it and avoid following False Christs.

Jesus made it clear that when He returns, nobody will have any doubt that it is Him. From Mark 13:

Mark 13:21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:

13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

13:23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

13:24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

13:25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

13:28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:

13:29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

13:30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

13:34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

13:35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 13:36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

As it says in Mark 13:21, if somebody tells you that they or someone else is the Christ, don't believe them. Even if they are doing wondrous things which you think are miraculous, don't believe them. Before Jesus returns, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light. Surely everybody will notice when the sun and the moon go out and the world is plunged into darkness. Another unmistakable sign of Christ's return will be stars falling from the sky, and the heavens shaking.

After those things happen, Christ will return coming in the clouds with great power and glory. We should also pay attention to the Bible. A false Christ may concentrate on one part of the Bible and ignore the rest. When Jesus returns, he will fulfill all the prophecies in the Bible. Read Matthew 5:17 and 5:18:

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

If we stay alert, and watch for Christ's return, then we should not be deceived by false Christs. Please be very careful, don't let Satan trick you with his false Christs. Remember, Christ's return will be unmistakable, as written in Matthew 24:29-30:

Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

As it is written in Matthew 24:30, everybody on earth will see Christ returning. People who haven't accepted Jesus as their saviour will know at that moment that they have made the wrong choice. It will be too late for them. Accept Jesus now, and follow God.
