Jesus's teachings - Lust

Matthew 5:27-30 (KJV)

Lust

5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Adultery is bad because it can destroy the relationship between married people. If you fantasize about having adulterous sex, that is almost as bad, because you are damaging your half of your relationship with your spouse. You need to have trust for your marriage to work. You want to know that your spouse wants to be with you, and vice-versa (Matthew 5:27-28).

In Matthew 5:28-29, Jesus tells us that it's better to get rid of those sins which we have let become part of our lives. It's hard to change an old habit, but that's much better than going to hell for them. Pray to God to help you to turn away from sin.
