Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The Pharisees were notorious for following the Old Testament Law to the letter. There is no way that Christians can follow Old Testament Law any better than the Pharisees did. If you think that following Old Testament Law makes you righteous, the best you can do is to equal the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisees - not exceed it. If you try to follow Old Testament Law, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
